“That will take some time, Sir.”

“That’s okay, I will rest here while you braid.”

Rhupunsle’s father fell asleep at the base of the tower and was awakened by something fuzzy brushing his face.  When he opened his eyes, sunshine greeted him and he could see that the fuzzy thing was the tip of an ebony braid.  His eyes followed the braid up to the head resting on the windowsill.  Rhupunsle had worn herself out doing as he asked and she had fallen asleep in the early morning hours.  He fingered the braid gently. For such a small portion, it was very strong.  If he wasn’t looking at it he wouldn’t have believed it.  He pulled a rope ladder out of his gear and tied the top of it to the end of the braid.  Then he tugged on it gently until the girl woke up and looked a question down at him.

“Pull your hair up and hook the ladder over the windowsill! You will be able to come down!"

Rhupunsle did as the man instructed, and then it settled on her.  She was getting out of the tower!
